A Final Report from Ukraine 2014…

We find it hard to believe that the Ukraine mission has come to an end and we are all back home. God has done some miraculous things in the few days of ministry we had in Ukraine. We've seen a mission trip that was ready to begin, be totally changed and moved some thirteen hours west. Every detail was in place just five short weeks later, and this was surely only by God's miraculous hand at work. We've seen many people come and participate in an evangelistic concert - in excess of 9,000 people. We've seen and stood in the place where a revolution began, and still continues five months later. We've begun to forge relationships with some incredible new Ukrainian friends. We've sung our hearts out for God's glory. We've seen, first-hand the miracle of salvation. We've seen 4,432 people take their first steps toward Jesus Christ!

Our hearts ache for Ukraine, her people, and especially our friends. We've heard so many people say thank you for coming during such a difficult time. However, we finally began to understand that statement as we stood in the middle of Independence Square and saw the barricades, the tents, the stacks of bricks ready to be hurled, the makeshift shields, and all the other trappings of a revolution. We know that God allowed us this experience to drive us to our knees to intercede for Ukraine! On the evening of our penultimate concert, all our Ukrainian friends gathered around the tables before dinner and sang their national anthem for us. It is a haunting melody, but the thing that is more haunting is the fact that they may not be able to sing that song much longer. We have been blessed to live in a stable country. Yes, we have our ups and our downs, but we have not been in fear for our national sovereignty. Pray for Ukraine. Pray that God will spare her and protect her. Pray for the believers - for encouragement and strength in the face of persecution. Pray for those who have made their first steps toward Jesus, and for those who will follow behind us and disciple them. Pray for those who have yet to hear or believe - pray for workers to enter the harvest fields. God is sweeping across Ukraine, and millions are waiting to hear a message of hope - the message of the Gospel!
